Project Lead Assistant – Mangilao, GU

Job Description

This full-time role supports the Project Lead by helping coordinate and supervise agricultural projects to ensure sustainable practices and productivity across crop production, livestock care, harvesting, washing, packing, sales, distribution, and community events. This is a grant-funded position and is contingent upon continued funding. Opportunities for growth or promotion may be available.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED  
  • Valid Driver’s License   
  • Must be physically able to walk, bend, kneel, squat, bend your neck, and lift up to 50 lbs.  
  • Must be able to work outdoors in heat, wind, rain and other weather conditions  
  • Working flexible hours; may involve early mornings on harvest days and may require some weekend or holiday shifts; schedule changes on short notice may occur


Preferred Qualifications (not required):

– Previous experience in farming, crew leadership, or agricultural project coordination
– Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Forms)

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Lead in creating and implementing weekly work plans and daily crew schedules.  
  • Supervise, train, and assign tasks to crew members on planting, cultivation, harvesting, packing, and maintenance.  
  • Assist with seed germination, planting, cultivating, plant care, and harvesting crops, including soil prep, weeding, fertilizing and irrigation management.  
  • Oversee and assist with livestock care and feeding; monitor animal health and living conditions.  
  • Gather, record, and report data related to crop yields, labor hours, livestock performance, and other farm activities.  
  • Assist in the maintenance and basic repair of farm equipment and machinery; coordinate service or escalate mechanical issues.  
  • Manage post-harvest processes when needed: washing, packing, labeling
  • Support community outreach and events, including preparation, set-up, staffing, and breakdown of markets, training, and workshops.  
  • Handle money and monetary instruments when delegated, using a simple cash box/register and completing reconciliation sheets.  
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and food safety requirements.  
  • Fill in for the Project Lead during short absences and support higher-level planning or reporting as assigned.
